Such was the case with one such couple, who contacted Home Studio by Omega regarding their remodeling project. They were able to peer into a small, underutilized closet and see the possibilities beyond those existing walls. Borrowed from the pages of the classic novel by C.S. Lewis: The Lion, The Witch & the Wardrobe, these semi-empty nesters wanted to explore the possibilities of opening the back wall of a closet, into the adjacent bath and creating some magic.
The existing half bathroom on the other side of the closet was small yet functional, they were longing for enchanting and spaciousness, and so their journey began.
Our designer was smitten by this fun, energetic couple. As they described the scope of the project, she knew that their vision would be fun to watch come to life.
The lovely ranch home is perched atop the banks of the Thornapple River. An easygoing stream that meanders through low, southwest Michigan woodlands.
Work began with demolition, removing the honey oak vanity and medicine cabinet. Gone were the dark chocolate mosaic floor tiles, exhaust fan, wall mirror, commode, and light fixture.
Once the shared wall was breached, the plan began to take shape. A modern farmhouse guest bath, a wash of winter white. Anchored by the white Koch Cabinetry vanity, the white brick, and herringbone tiled shower walls and, flooring by Virginia Tile gave the room a stunning and quiet boldness. Quartz countertop by Envi in the color Carrara Fina holds the sink. 8” tongue and groove planks grace the wall behind the new commode. Matte black, circular mirror, light fixtures by Shades of Light, faucets, and towel ring by Ferguson, finished off the crisp detailing.
New 36” Craftsmen French doors offer safe passage and natural lighting, joining the stylish guest bedroom to the delightful full bath, brilliantly.
