Christmas Time is Here

May you find joy in the simple this season; may you be surrounded by people who care about you.  May the true meaning of Christmas bring you renewed hope and restore your faith in the potential of love.

From the side stage, Charlie Brown yells, “Isn’t there anyone who knows what Christmas is all about?”

His best friend Linus assures him, “Sure, Charlie Brown, I can tell you what Christmas is all about.” he walks slowly, his trusty blanket trailing him to center stage.

“Lights, please.”

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not; for I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men.

With this, a rare smile appears, and our friend Charlie Brown has renewed hope. His faith in the potential of the straggly wooden Christmas tree is restored, and he is resolved to create something perfect from lack.

If you have seen the show, you know, that when the decorating ensues a single Christmas bulb proves too much for the tree’s frail miniature branches.

Linus wraps his beloved blanket around the base of the tree and says, “Maybe it just needs a little love”. Charlie Brown’s friends band together and transform the little tree, for their friend. A simple gesture that ultimately brings a sweet smile back to Charlie Brown’s face at the end of this profound and beloved holiday cartoon.

May you find joy in the simple this season; may you be surrounded by people who care about you.  May the true meaning of Christmas bring you renewed hope and restore your faith in the potential of love.

Merry Christmas from The Omega Home Studio team.

( In loving memory of Jasper, our office dog who showed up every day with unconditional love for everyone he met.)
