As the project proceeds to construction, the designer’s role is less hands-on; though the proverbial buck oftenlands squarely with them. When questions arise, clients typically reach out to the face they have come to know. If the construction lead or site supervisor has a design question, they contact the designer for clarification; these often require a site visit. This is a common element of the design and construction process and why we offer Everything Under One Roof.
At the onset of a retained client interaction, the designer will create renderings, which will assist in better visualizing and understanding your final project. Mood boards, drawings, swatches, and potential material samples are carefully gathered and presented.
This is the time to be fully transparent about what you do and do not like. It is a collaborative process. Your designer offers what she feels best represents the look and feel you are trying to achieve. She listens to your feedback regarding her choices, which were based on a handful of conversations, which included your favored finishes, today’s current trends, and quality materials & fixtures based on your project’s budget. Allow the designer to explain the “why” behind the selections presented and you’ll have a whole new insight into durable, timeless materials and the lasting value they bring.
